Terms
Local guidance, with room for the sky to surprise you.

About this website
Velvet Hours is published by TWST Studio Inc. This website introduces an app in development and shows the Velvet Hours website’s local aurora guidance for three towns. These terms cover the website, not anything in the app.
What the guidance means
A forecast is an estimate based on the information available at the time. Weather, visibility and auroral activity can change. A good call does not guarantee you will see aurora, and a poor one does not mean a sighting is impossible.
Use each card only for the place and time it names. An illustration or a recorded oval is not live viewing guidance, and information that is out of date or not available is not a current forecast.
Make your own decision outdoors
Velvet Hours is not an emergency, navigation or road-safety service. Check local weather, closures, access and conditions before you go. Choose somewhere safe and legal to stop, and don’t use the site while driving.
Launch dates and availability
January 1, 2027 is the planned iPhone launch date. Plans can change. The countdown reaching zero does not mean the app is available, and Android has no announced release date.
This website takes no payment and creates no reservation, purchase or subscription. Coverage, features, prices and store availability will be confirmed with the released app.
Using the site
You may use the site to explore the guidance and share links to its pages. Please don’t interfere with the service, try to reach parts of it that aren’t public, or present our forecasts as your own. Contact us before republishing content or using it commercially.
Velvet Hours content belongs to TWST Studio Inc. or its creators. Third-party material remains subject to its own rights and licences.
Availability
We may update, pause or retire parts of the website. We cannot promise uninterrupted access, or that everything is always accurate or complete. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law where you live does not allow us to exclude.

The auroral oval uses NOAA SWPC’s OVATION model, as NOAA publishes it; it is not an official NOAA product. Velvet Hours is an independent product, not made or endorsed by NOAA, Apple or Google.
