The planned iPhone launch is January 1, 2027. Android is coming soon. We’ll link to the real store listing here when the app is available.
About tonight’s calls
The three town cards come from the Velvet Hours website’s forecasts for Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Iqaluit. Each describes that town’s out-of-town viewing spot, not every place in the surrounding area.
A call helps you decide whether it is worth looking. It cannot promise a sighting. Check the time on the card: “Out of date” and “Not available” are not current guidance.
The glowing oval shows modelled auroral activity. It is separate from the viewing calls and does not show where the app will work.
Your information and deletion requests
There is no account to delete on this website. If you’ve emailed us and want to ask about, correct or delete information in that conversation, write to mikayla@twst.studio.
Tell us which conversation or information you mean. Please don’t send identity documents or passwords. If we need to confirm that a request is yours, we’ll explain what is needed and why.
The app will have its own privacy information and account-deletion instructions before it is available. Clearing your browser data does not delete information you have sent us by email.
If you operate a data service we fetch
You have most likely arrived from the User-Agent string VelvetHours/0.4. This project reads public forecast and geomagnetic data from Environment and Climate Change Canada (GeoMet), GFZ Potsdam and NOAA SWPC, at low volume and on a fixed schedule. Requests are never sent with Cache-Control: no-cache. If anything we do is a problem for you, write and it will be changed. mikayla@twst.studio
